NEW FOR NCAC 2010: Fundraising Teams

New for the 2010 NCAC: Fundraising Team Registration
Offer Limited to only three Fundraising Teams

The Short Story: Become one of three NCAC 2010 Challenge Leaders, form a Fundraising Team of 10 or more new NCACers, help at least 10 of them each get to their $1700 minimum, and then ride in the 2010 NCAC without having to meet your own fundraising minimum! The following rules and procedures apply:

  1. Challenge Leaders register for the 2010 NCAC under their own special category and form a Fundraising Team at the same time. For the 2010 NCAC, only Cyclists may register as Challenge Leaders.
  2. The Challenge Leader motivates at least 10 new NCAC participants to register and join the Fundraising Team. The Fundraising Team members must join the team when they register for the NCAC. ‘New NCAC participant’ means a person who has never participated in a previous NCAC as a Cyclist or Crew Member. Once registered, Fundraising Team members may not withdraw or be removed from the team. Likewise, new NCACers cannot join a Fundraising Team if they originally registered individually (i.e. not as a Team Member).
  3. The Challenge Leader mentors, advises, and encourages their Fundraising Team members as they work their way to their individual $1700 fundraising minimums. This includes planning and organizing Team fundraising events. See the NCAC website for ideas.
  4. While not all of your team members need to register as Cyclists, they all must raise at least $1700 regardless of whether they register as a Cyclist or Crew Member or choose to not participate in the event at all.
  5. Online and offline donations are submitted and processed on an INDIVIDUAL BASIS. This means that any funds raised by the Team as a group need to be divvied up among the individual team members PRIOR to submitting them to the NCAC for inclusion in individual totals. Once funds are posted to one team member’s account, they cannot be transferred to teammate’s account.
  6. If the individual fundraising levels of at least 10 members of a Fundraising Team are at or above the $1700 level by NCAC Registration on May 19th 2010, including donations brought to Registration, the Challenge Leader will be allowed to participate in the NCAC without having to meet her or his $1700 individual fundraising minimum.
  7. HOWEVER, if less than 10 members of a Fundraising Team are at the $1700 fundraising minimum by May 19th, the Challenge Leader’s $1700 individual fundraising requirement will not be waived and she or he will be held to the same individual fundraising requirements as regular Cyclists.
  8. Team members not at the $1700 minimum by May 19th will be subject to the same fundraising requirements as regular Cyclists.
  9. BONUS: The first Fundraising Team with 10 or more members at the $1700 minimum will receive 11 free NCAC 2010 Limited Edition jerseys – a $550 value!
  10. There are no exceptions to these rules. Any instances not covered by these rules will be decided by the designated Fundraising Team Coordinator (Joaquin Feliciano), with input from the Board of Directors and Organizing Committee Co-Chairs.
